Bears in Russia
For the second time today someone asked me, "Is it true that people in America believe that there are bears wandering around the streets of every Russian city?" I was surprised. I don't think anyone in the States thinks that.
So help me out here, folks. Is it just the episode of "Family Guy" that produced that? Or is something else going on in American pop culture that I'm not getting?

Bears have symbolized Russia agressiveness since the Cold War, where have you been? AKA the American Reckless Cowboy.

My fav. use of this image is in the sci fi film with William Hurt which I think is amazing and no one else does.

Don responds: Yes, yes, this I know. But this is my eighth (ninth?) trip to Russia. I’ve never been asked this question before. So what’s changed? At the moment I’m betting on Family Guy as the source of that newest impression.
