Flash farts

by Don

Grumble. The other day Flash audio/video stopped working completely in my version of Firefox. All my online classes use Flash for audio. Flash has regained functionality today, doubtless because many screamed at the Mozilla folks. Still, I suppose it is time to abandon Flash and come up with a pure HTML5 audio player. I hate to do this. Flash has worked so very well for me. I could program this html5 stuff myself. In fact all my online classes are programmed from the bottom up by me, with the exception of the function that measures the size of mp3 files; that was beyond me.

But for me to do that programming would take a minimum of eight hours. If I wanted to make the code clean and lovely, it might take as many as fifty hours.

Hmph. I'll ask my colleague Andrew for help and pay someone to do the work. He knows lots of html5 developers.

Yeah, bummer. Several reports out about Flash being hacked and causing problems, so Google, Chrome, some others shutting Flash out.

It’s been hacked for remote control by the not so innocent. Update Java and Adobe flash and use IE or Chrome, and perhaps Firefox will work after the upgrade. Currently all browsers outside of IE are blocking till Patch is applied.
