I begin the hike down Cleetwood Cove Trail. The sign at the top warns that it is a strenuous hike, and that climbing back up the seven hundred feet is like climbing 65 floors of stairs, which is over half the height of the Empire State Building. Am I really game for that? Damn right I am.

But first a mystery. There are these odd tracks heading down the top of the trail. I've never seen such a skinny tire tread inside such a thick tire tread. What kind of vehicle would need such an odd tread. The path is only two-three people wide. What could manage the way with all its switchbacks? It's a mystery. Sometimes you just have to get used to not knowing things.
