Capital Coffee
When I am in the mood for an overpriced cup of coffee, I stop here at "Capital Coffee." The word "capital" here is used in the sense of "Das Kapital" and in the sense of financial assets.
In the former Soviet Union the name of the place would have immediately brought to mind either Marx's book or the negative image of capital as a way to oppress the peoples of the world, but as you approach the restaurant you see the following sign which offers from noon till four "The Capitalist's Lunch for Energy." So this is humor! First you think of Marx, and then the restaurant makes you do a quick turn-around to the new way of thinking about it:
Not only does it offer wi-fi, but the wi-fi sign is surrounded by a "Happy Interneting" message. (Truth to tell, the two times I tried to use the internet here, it did not work.)
This morning I had a few minutes to kill, so I dropped in. I had never had their Viennese Cheesecake. I ordered that plus a drink. They delivered not only a delicious cake with beautiful presentation, but a flawlessly crafted cappuccino as well.
