| 0900 - 1100 | Verify that all is well with students. Discuss scheduling issues with Aygul. Nosh at the Галерея кухонь народов мира. Work a bit on Tatar. Study map of downtown. Get more money, distribute to distribute. |
| 1100 - 1300 | Work on Tatar. Prep e-mail. Gossip up a storm with Lizan of the business school. Consider her offer for me to lead an English discussion group. |

| 1400 - 1330 | Students are at lecture "Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan as a subject of the RF" by Prof. Ruslan Garipov, Dean of Law Department of TSUEH. Alas, Don has another obligation at three and can't stay for the lecture. This lecture is in English because the students will most likely not have the Russian political vocabulary. |

| 1500 - 1630 | Work with Lena on English. When I speak slowly, she understands a lot, but she has an affective barrier against speaking. It's always intersting what words we know and what words we don't know. She knew "small" but didn't know "tiny." In my experience it is the small words in a language that throw you off, not the big ones. |
