The word замечание means “a comment, an observation.” Sometimes the word is entirely neutral:
| Папа посмотрел на небо и сделал замечание: «Скоро исчезнут облака». |
Dad looked at the sky and made an observation, “The clouds will disappear soon.” |

At other times the word has the sense of “a comment containing criticism.”
| Моя подруга сделала мне замечание, чтобы я больше не хвастался перед её родителями. |
My girlfriend criticized me [and suggested that] I shouldn't boast in front of her parents anymore. |
| Мама, хватит уже! Не делай мне замечаний! |
Mom, that's enough. Don't criticize me! |
