The Russian word for cinnamon is корица.

This is not coincidence) But colour name also not derived from the spice - корица means bark (diminutive), and both colour and spice names come from it.
Spice, because of it's really a bark of cinnamon, and коричневый colour, because of it's a common colour for a bark.
