Don's first impressions of Yosemite are disappointing. The park seems so tame: twenty-one bus stops, paved roads, permanent tent enlosures, and everything seems wheelchair accessible. No great challenge. So Don and Alicia decide to take the 1.6 mile hike to Vernal Falls. After two hundred yards they realize that the 1.6 miles is at nearly a 45° angle! Don is happy.
