Helen was laid to rest in the Brooke family plot in Douglas, AZ, less than a hundred yards from the Mexican border. Hers is the leftmost of the plots, although the headstone has not yet been placed here. When Henry asked his mother whether she wanted to be placed next to his father, she replied, "If you place me next to him, I'll haunt you for the rest of your life! I was born a Brooke, and I want to be placed next to my mother." Henry honored the wish: her mother Agnes Mathilda Brooke (née Egnell) lies in the center plot. Anne Linea Hendrickson (née Egnell) is in the rightmost plot. Anne Linea was sister to Agnes Mathilda.
